Thanks for reporting your problem. In the future, IRC and the Mozillazine support forums may be a more effective place to obtain support before filing a bug report. People there will assist you with problems and assist you in filing good bug reports if you have indeed found an application bug. There are generally a lot more people helping users there than on Bugzilla.

To clarify and help evaluate this problem:

1. Do you have any extensions? If so, try starting Firefox in Safe Mode. (Select "Firefox (Safe Mode)" in the start menu)

2. Try killing the firefox.exe process in Task Manger. First, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE or launch taskmgr.exe to bring up the Task Manager. Then, look for firefox.exe and select "End Process". After killing the process, try to launch Firefox again.

3. If Firefox still won't launch, your installation folder may have become corrupted. In this case, download a fresh copy of Firefox 2.0.0.10 and install it over your existing installation.

Could be a firewall problem. You need to give permission for the updated version. The old permission for the previous version will not do.
