Details
Right now the download window does not allow shift-clicking to select multiple items in the window. It should support this to allow multiple items to be deleted/restarted/etc at a time.

This was talked about in the Download Manager design revision for Firefox 3, but was decided against. Perhaps we'll reconsider it sometime in the future.

So? What would be the reason to make it behave differently from other lists?

The Add-ons manager is the same way - it only allows the selection of one item at a time. Just because it's a list doesn't mean multiple selection should/must be supported.

Well, if you have to press "rightclick->remove from list" five times in a row for example and don't pay attention that much you will end up hitting "clear list". And there is no confirmation asked for this... You are right about the extensions list, but for the download window multiple selections would make sense.
