Users need to use the in page close button, or chats and chat requests aren't dismissed until they time out.

Bug is reported upstream, looks like we'll need to see if we can edit templates to fix this ourselves.

From support:

"I think the fix would be more difficult than a template change. The issue is in our tracking system so it should be fixed in a future release. We do provide the source code to our customers if they wish to make any modifications."

Do they have any targeted date for the fix in their tracking system? As for your question, I doubt anyone would have time to fix the bug on our end, considering it's a completely new (to us) codebase and, depending on the language and environment, we might not have what we need to compile.

We should push them to give us a better answer as to when they can have a fix for it.
