This is default to explain, but easy to see.

Open Options, go to Privacy and then click Show Cookies.

Notice that a number of entries simply disappear from the list.
I cannot repo this on the latest hourly, however.

Right-click the page
Click 'View page info'
Click Security - then View Cookies - recieve the filtered list
Now press ESC and the list clears and shows the 'normal' full cookies list.  

Not sure if that is by design or ?

Hitting ESC to clear the field is by design, but I also can't reproduce mkaply's complaint on mac.
Guess it's fixed in the latest trunk. I tested on beta 1.
