I apologize if this has been suggested before... But I was just thinking, it would be neat if JavaScript could be a plug-in, like OJI/Java. If we could do something like this, then Netscape would also have a mechanism in the future to support other JS-like language plugins--e.g., VBScript.

I doubt this would be clever, as mozilla is built using JS... ->> Plug-ins, makign this an enhancement request.

You don't have to re-architect how JavaScript is supported if you want to add support for VBScript. The fundamental architecture of JavaScript won't be changed; it's right for what it does. If you'd like VBScript supported (or some specific enhancement that would make this easier), please open a new bug, describing it specifically, assign it to nobody@mozilla.org, and mark helpwanted. Netscape won't be providing resources for VBScript enablement. Marking INVALID.

Oky Doky. BTW, VBScript is not the only thing I was thinking of... I was also thinking of ANY other available scripting languages, like maybe TCL. Anyway, I've spun off bug 41274 for this.
