I apologize if this has been suggested before...  But I was just thinking, it
would be neat if JavaScript could be a plug-in, like OJI/Java.  If we could do
something like this, then Netscape would also have a mechanism in the future to
support other JS-like language plugins--e.g., VBScript.
I doubt this would be clever, as mozilla is built using JS...

You don't have to re-architect how JavaScript is supported if you want to add 
support for VBScript. The fundamental architecture of JavaScript won't be 
changed; it's right for what it does. If you'd like VBScript supported (or some 
specific enhancement that would make this easier), please open a new bug, 
describing it specifically, assign it to nobody@mozilla.org, and mark 
helpwanted. Netscape won't be providing resources for VBScript enablement.

Oky Doky.  BTW, VBScript is not the only thing I was thinking of...  I was also
thinking of ANY other available scripting languages, like maybe TCL.  Anyway,
I've spun off bug 41274 for this.
