Should we expand this concept to a general "Settings not remembered" type article, since many different kind of 3rd party apps can 'lock' many kinds of settings using user.js?

I'd like to have separate articles for each kind of thing that can happen to make it easier for people to find. We can also list the programs that are known to do this.

To avoid duplication, we could put the solutions in a common article. So the "Connection settings reset" article could

-Describe the symptoms of the problem
-List the programs that could cause the problem
-Link to the general "Settings reset" for solutions
