following appears in the compile log:

*** Fix above errors and then restart with "make -f client.mk build"
make[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/slave/trunk/mozilla'
configure: error: The linker major version, ,  does not match the compiler suite version, 8.

Fix is moving the cygwin/bin directory below the msvc entries in the PATH envvar.

patch included a couple of envvar additions to the osx machines.
