At least three or four times during the course of the day (I'm a heavy user), the cursor will freeze--checking email, on any random site, etc. Sometimes, instead of just restarting, I have to do a hard start by turning my computer completely off.

You need to contact technical support to get help finding more details about this crash before any work can be done. Most people do not experience this problem so it will be important to identify differences in your configuration that trigger these crashes.

Installed spyware/adware can definitely cause this, but that's more of a windows problem than one we see much on Mac computers. Old versions of plugins can cause this, particularly Flash since that is so ubiquitous on the web. Check with http://www.adobe.com and see if you have the latest Flash.

Other than that the tech support people will help you install "Talkback" which will report where the crash is happening, the first step in trying to fix it.
