Our fearless webdev leader has come up with a mock for a replacement of the existing "Build an addon" that helps with navigation.

The mock up needs one modification which is to add a fourth link bullet for "build a new add-on" or something similar.

Note that these are new strings and will cause some translation respins.

Attached patch v1, without .po/.mo changes (obsolete) — Splinter Review
Didn't check this in because of l10n. If it's too late for l10n we can punt on it and I won't put up a fight... (yea I know... sad, right?)

Arrgh...I really liked this - is it possible to just add it to en-US? Can't we have a late cycle l10n thing? (I'm sure there are other strings still floating around - no?).
Let me get out my tiny violin for you two. <3

Since this is a pretty important thing, let's go ahead and commit it, tag it @partial, and put in the English fallback manually. Then email the localizers and let them know:

- there are 4 new strings that are pretty prominent and just went in
- English fallback will happen if they don't get to them in time
- We're available to help manage conflicts or whatever if they have trouble merging the new .po to the one they're working on (and by "we" I mean "morgamic" ;)

As far as I know there are no other strings floating around. If there are, we should figure out what they're doing before we email the localizers so we can wrap all that into one email.
Wil, not sure what you mean by @partial? There are a couple other strings as well (collapse, support field) that we aren't sure what to do with.
@partial is what we flagged l10n fallback (= an if clause that displays a fallback string if gettext returns the string itself instead of a translation) throughout the project, in order to avoid ugly_l10n_strings showing up in production when localizers haven't got around to translating something yet.

For an example how it's used, look at
http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/addons/trunk/site/app/views/reviews/display.thtml?view=markup

By the way, we should remove the old @partials, now that localizers had a year to update some of these strings :)

Wil, what else do I need to do here -- still need @partial stuff after what we talked about in meeting?

Good for English - still need it merged out to the other locales.
