User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008030305 Minefield/3.0b4pre
Build Identifier:

The Mozilla projects list has a heading for XUL with "_XUL Runtime Engine_ (XRE)". But that is obsolete, it's XULRunner.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit http://www.mozilla.org/projects/list.html#infrastruc
2. Read the text
3. Click the _XUL Runtime Engine_ link
Actual Results:
Link goes to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xul/xre.html, which redirects to http://developer.mozilla.org/docs/XULRunner

Expected Results:
XRE and XUL Runtime Engine are obsolete, replaced by XULRunner.

XULRunner is important enough that it should be its own heading in the projects list. So the text should say something like

"_XUL_
XML User Interface Language, basis of Mozilla's cross-platform user interface and a key element of the XULRunner platform.

_XULRunner_
Mozilla's runtime platform that powers Firefox 3 and many rich internet-enabled desktop applications from Mozilla and _other individuals and organizations_."

With _XULRunner_ a link to http://developer.mozilla.org/docs/XULRunner and _other individuals and organizations_ a link to /projects/mozilla-based.html

XUL fans (Mark Finkle? Brad Smedberg?) could review the text.

All links to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xul/xre.html should be replaced.
There's a similar bad link to it in http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xul/

The old Projects list has now been archived. There is a new page with a new XUL description at

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/specifications.html

There is also a separate XULRunner description on the new page at

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/technologies.html

Closing as fixed.
