Yet, there are still a few related BugZilla bugs opened.

Can someone confirm that this file is not used on (SeaMonkey) Trunk anymore ?

Correct, it's not used at all, either in the app or in the profile.

They might still be valid on the branch though, there were some regressions when RDF started using safe output streams which might not all be fixed :-(

all (open) bugs with |chrome.rdf| in the summary are resolved now. And the 1.x branch is dead.
