Reopening bug leaves resolution

When you reopen a RESOLVED FIXED bug, it becomes REOPENED FIXED, and so one has to then make it REOPENED without fixed. This is a pain, and causes undue amounts of spam... :-) Could something be changed? eg, change the radio buttons to: ( ) Reopen bug and clear resolution ( ) Reopen bug and leave resolution field Thanks.

Reassigning to dmose@mozilla.org, who now has front-line responsibility for all Bonsai and Bugzilla bugs.

Reassigning back to me. That stuff about me no longer being the front-line person responsible for Bugzilla and Bonsai turned out to be short-lived. Please pardon our confusion, and I'm very sorry about the spam.

Is there any case where you *would* want to leave the resolution field as-is when reopening the bug?

Terry: This must be a trivial bug to fix, but it is resulting in leger spending a while each day finding all bugs that have been reopened but not had their resolution cleared so that he can clear them. Fix this bug, for his sake, please.... :-)

Jan -- This behavior was originally specified way back in BugSplat days. It was requested by the QA department there. Do you remember why? *I* don't. What is your opinion on this issue?

Maybe this two-step process was a clumsy way of verifying the reopen? If so, my suggestion for bug 13534 (a single `Verified' flag, to verify all changes in status) would fix this.

I can't think of a good reason for this behavior. reopened fixed is not a sensible state -- the only execuse it that it shows you the bug was once "fixed", but the activity gives you that anyway.

I think the argument was (not that I agree with it) that you could really easily query for that, whereas doing the query based on the activity log is difficult to impossible.
I see not problem with having a reopened bug clear it's resolution automatically. I came in late to Bugsplat just 2 years ago. I have no idea why this is like this.

Well, OK, then. Fixed. REOPENing a bug will now clear the resolution.
