Details
Form zoomin. For example, when you're trying to compose a 60+ line comment on bugzilla, and your working in that 8 line height comment box, right clicking to bring up the (currently non-exsistant) context menu, and selecting 'zoom-in' would expand it, somehow. I haven't figured out the details yet, someone just make it happen ;).

Mmmmm. Perhaps the textarea would have a `Resize ...' context menu item, which (when selected) would allow you to to drag the textarea borders to enlarge it? Or perhaps just a `Edit Contents in New Window' context menu item, which opens a new window just for editing the textarea contents.

Or maybe someone can expand this comments field on bugzilla? There are times when text fields aren't big enough, but I'm not sure a whole separate zoom-in mechanism is the way to go. (It would make more sense to allow direct resizing of the widget within the page, reflowing as necessary, and then allowing web authors to specify NORESIZE if they want it fixed -- that would require some standards body approval, though.) Resolving as LATER so we can think about the issue in a future version.

I suggest WONTFIX. People can use their favorite editor and the old good copy/paste. Maybe all is need is more advertising of this option :-)
Then how about a context menu that lets us pop up our favourite $EDITOR with a tmp file. Would this make Jeremy happy too?

I'm not even sure I want this feature any more. Of course, i've been up for around 40 hours right now, which probably doesnt help my UI design thought process. Seems to me launching an external editor would cause lots of problems. First off, mac/win dont have $EDITOR. second, how do you monitor the temp file to read back in? Lock mozilla until the editor returns?
Marking WONTFIX based on the discussion (which shows that the idea in this bug needs to be formalized by W3C, or that launching an external editor would cause lot of problems). Implementing will add a lot of clutter for little gain. There is the copy-paste solution which works very well and which needs more advertising if folks complain.
