If you type for example: http://example.com/filename and on server exists file "filename.exe" FF will start download but it will save file without extension.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type exe, zip (or any file that will be download by ff automaticly) file url,  without extension
2. start download
Actual Results:  
file saved after this steps will have no extension, just filename

Expected Results:  
file should have its extension
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
I have just reproduced this as I clicked to download a PDF file behind a login required site and I got the filename without the extension (filename,)   instead of (filename.pdf)

this is reproduced on (52.1.2 (64-bit)) on Debian 8 Linux OS.
