425345 - <select> box overly large when containing Thai characters

I happened to be using my school's webmail (https://webmail.msstate.edu/), and I noticed the language box was larger than usual. I tracked this down to the "Thai" language <option> in the <select>. Not sure when this regressed. What's strange is that I tried it on branch, and it's large there too, but it hasn't always been like this, so it is a regression... Konqueror on Linux looks correct and Minefield on Windows looks correct.

it's a little bit larger than above drop down list on Mac OS X 10.5.5 Intel.

Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.1.

On my Ubuntu 8.10a6, they look the same. Both are 30px height.

Does it depend on font?

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 96.0a1(2021-11-23) on Ubuntu 20 unfortunately the site mentioned in the description is not available anymore. Marking this issue as RESOLVED->WORKSFORME since the site in cause is not available and no work has been done on this issue in the past years.

If the issue is still valid please feel free to reopen it or file another bug.
