427157 - cannot bookmark sites into existing folders...they are not available

My bookmark folders still appear when pressing the "Bookmarks" tab, but when i go into "Bookmark this page" i am unable to access the folders.  They will not appear except for a very few.

>It is difficult at this time as I have removed the beta version and returned to the latest version of Firefox.  All of my bookmarks returned and I am having no problems.  All I can remember is that when I tried to bookmark a page when the box opened it would show Bookmarks, Unfiled Bookmarks and one other that I can't remember.  When I would go through the process to add the page to the bookmarks when they opened up it was to show nothing.  All of my bookmarks were gone.  When clicking on the other two selections the same thing happened.  I am very sorry this explanation is so poor other than to say that when I would go through the correct process of adding a bookmark I was unable to as all others were not there as well as the new one.

No problems with WinXP. Can you test it in safe mode with RC1, or starting a new blank profile and importing the bookmarks?

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
