Worse than I thought - every use of the up and down arrow keys deletes the email on which the cursor lands. i.e. It is not just happening at the extremes of the list. It makes it impossible to navigate the list without loss of emails. These emails are not sent to trash. In fact, in trash the same thing happens except that the arrow keys move the cursor to alternate emails. i.e. they skip one email and delete the next.

Are you using any extensions? (Try without them if you do.) I gather you didn't have this in thunderbird2, if so, add the "regression" keyword. Does the message show up in tb2 later? If you rebuild the index?

Have uninstalled tb3 and re-installed tb2. There is no problem there, though rebuilding the index does not retrieve the emails. I was using extensions which I also have in tb2. I will re-install tb3 and test again with extensions removed.

Ok. I have tracked it down. I can run tb3 with either Folderpane 0.0.5.1 or with Lightning 0.6a1 (latest nightly build - 13th April I think), but not both. I don't need to uninstall either of them, just disable one. As an interesting further side-effect, with both running I also lose my File, Edit and View menus. The menus are still there when I hover, just not the words. So I am guessing it is a clash between these two. Adrian

P.S. I should have mentioned. The issue did not occur with the previous nightly build of Lightning. Sorry to miss that off the last comment.

->INVALID, as it was inter-extension compatibility problem. Might be good to notify the Folderpane extension author. BTW, you can easily have both tb2 and tb3 installed side by side, just use another installation folder.
