431020 - surfing web through 3rd party chinese program. Works on ff2.0, doesnt on 3.0

Im not sure if this is a Java issue or whether other of these types of programs are affected, but I use a chinese tool called "dimsum" to view chinese character websites. The program seems to use some type of proxy deal to send the internet through my local port 4445, but in ff3.0 it is just blank - no error, just wont display anything. It works just fine in ff2.0. Im not sure if this problem is limited to MacOSX, but have also heard rumors that a similar problem has happened to people running vista.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. google "dimsum chinese tool"
2. download
3. open on a mac computer
4. type a chinese website into the address bar (www.google.com.tw will work) and hit the go button
5. watch the magic happens as it brings up your default web browser (should be firefox...safari - what were you thinking?)
6. seems to be sending thu port 4445, but the page is just blank
7. weep in frustration
Actual Results:  
page is blank

Expected Results:  
page is not blank. mouse over chinese characters shows me character romanization

This is a mass search for bugs that are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, and have not been changed for 800 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10, create a fresh profile,
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you
still see the bug, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the
resolution to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
