What error message did you get?  What did you see as the download's state in the Download Manager window?

I have also had this problem; the error is:
"(file's path).part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

No, this isn't a dup of 433182.

This "bug" still happens, but there are two reasons for it:

1. The .part file was deleted somehow (in which case it is only Mozilla's responsibility if it was Firefox that deleted it as opposed to the user or a third-party program).

2. The download was paused for too long causing the server to assume the client was dead and terminate the connection, so when the download is resumed, it won't work. There's nothing Firefox can do about this other than to not delete the .part file so that you can try to resume the download (assuming the server allows it).
