I open up firefox 3 on either XP or vista and my resource usage goes from my normal 17% all the way upto 96%. And believe me when I say that I have over 2 gigs of RAM on all my computers, seems to me that Firefox 3 is constantly "dumping" And its messing up other processes on the computer when this happens especially with Internet explorer running (I recommend you don't try to use or run I-explorer unless you like constantly restarting your computer) I don't know how else to explain it but that's what happens. BTW I really wouldn't let other people know about this because as soon as your computer starts to freeze on you I notice that some files tend to disappear including security files, and that might cause a panic if people know about it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start firefox normally.
2.start Internet explorer normally.
3.Watch resource monitor if you have one, then take notes on how crazy it goes.
Actual Results:
my resources are eaten up like crazy, and I can't do much on my computer besides wait for it to eventually respond to my commands.

Expected Results:
run smoothly is what the software should have done but it doesn't.

None that I know of.

This isn't a security sensitive bug report.

If Firefox 3 beta 5 really behaved this way on Windows in general, we would have heard of it before now (and wouldn't have shipped beta 5 with that kind of general bug), so these symptoms must be caused by something specific to your setup (an broken addon, perhaps).

You should try finding a solution to your problem at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+Support+Home+Page . There isn't enough information here to identify a bug in Firefox.

Yeah you are right it, but it I've seen it do that via my resource monitor. And I realized that my browser has to be open for more then an hour before it start to "dump" a lot I mean at one point my firefox browser was using over 500,000Kb's and then my explorer opened up a Dumprep.exe or something like that and it stayed open even after I ended it's process like 5 times. So what in the world causes firefox on my computer to open up a dump file like that because really it is annoying.

Cant see this on a MAC with this build

Can't recreate the issue on Vista using RC1.
