Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071030 Fedora/2.0.0.8-2.fc8 Firefox/2.0.0.8

I have a working FF 2.0.0.8 setup on Fedora core 8/9.
For Fedora 9 we go to FF 3.0b5.
Upgrading and using the old 2.0 profile gives me NS_OU_OF_MEMORY issues but that is not the main issue here.
I created a new profile and started FF3. All OK.
I imported the old bookmarks html file from FF 2.0. Looks OK.
I close the browser.
I restart 3.0b5.
Bookmarks are gone.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start freshly installed FF 3.0b5
2. import bookmarks from FF 2.0.0.x
3. restart FF 3.0b5 and see: bookmarks gone
Actual Results:
upgraded firefox using yum to firefox 3.0b5.
made a new profile using firefox -p
started firefox 3.0b5 from this profile. all ok.
then I import the old bookmarks. all looks OK.
I exit the browser.
I start the 3.0b5 browser.
Bookmarks gone.

Expected Results:
No bookmarks should disappear.

Fedora 9 machine. x86_64, 4GB RAM,
If I first make a backup, right after importing the bookmarks (before shutting down the browser) the bookmarks do remain!

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
