I know wingding fonts never worked out-of-the box with Firefox 2.0, but you could change fontEncoding.properties to get them to render:

# Symbol font
encoding.wingdings.ttf = windows-1252
encoding.wingdings2.ttf = windows-1252
encoding.wingdings3.ttf = windows-1252

...etc.

But there doesn't appear to be a fontEncoding.properties file any more in FF3. How do I get these working? I know Wingding fonts aren't standard, but when an Outlook user sends a mail containing a smiley to my gmail account, FF3 always renders it as a J, which can lead to confusion: http://www.jaanuskase.com/en/2006/02/what_does_j_mean.html

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/rexx/htm/fonts.htm - the wingdings sample won't render properly.
