The Download page for Firefox 3 shows the following workflow as the last step:

Drag the Firefox icon from the Applications folder into the dock. Then, just click on Firefox whenever you want to use the web!

We should include the extra step of having them right and click and mark "Keep in Dock" so the next time they start FF the dock icon is still there. Many mac users do not know this.
We tell them to drag from Applications folder to Dock which accomplishes this.
