At some point--whenever http://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting is ready (and it might be now, dunno)--we should link to that page from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/blocklist/

(I searched and couldn't find a dupe on this; apologies if it's early or already filed somewhere else.)

What shall we do with this bug?

Is that wiki page ready to be our official policy on blocklisting?  Another (more legally sound) option could be the blocklist section of the Firefox privacy policy.  Or both?


John, if you want to suggest wording and placement on the page, I can make a patch for this.

Maybe something in the subheading, like "View our blocklist policy"

Wow, this one is an oldie but a goodie. If we're comfortable linking to the blocklist page as our official policy then let's use this as the subhead:

"This page lists blocklisted add-ons that should no longer be used with Mozilla products. _View our blocklist policy_."

Fligtar, are you comfortable with adding this link? Are you the right guy to approve, or is there someone else who needs to weigh in?

I'd rather not link to that page as our official policy. There was some work started last year to make an official policy and SLA that was abandoned.

Blocklisting in general is in a sad state with no one to look after it -- morgamic helps out when he has time but I've asked for a new position in 2011 to look after it and a few other items. Until we pick that back up, I'd suggest we leave this bug open.

This is actually fixed in the new AMO blocklist page, and we're still waiting for mozilla.com to implement the redirects there in bug 654614.
