Each time I close Firefox 3.03 on my Thinkpad T61, using the upper right side "X" I find that my "sessionstore.js" file appears to be deleted and returned to a default state. I've seen this file grow to ~58 KB, but after I close Firefox, this file decreases to ~1 KB (I believe). And there is no information in this file regarding the webpages Firefox just had open. Also, each tab I have open has the circle graphic spinning, and there appears to be no history for that tab for me to go back to, if I've clicked on web links. One other item is the back/forward arrows in the menu bar are both mirror images of each other, but on other PCs I have Firefox installed, the back arrow is larger and in a circle graphic. This is reproduced each time I close Firefox. I have also uninstalled Firefox, rebooted my PC, deleted any remaining Firefox folders, and reinstalled from the Firefox web page, and I still have this issue. I have been installing into D:\Program Files\Mozilla\Firefox, but I will try again with the reinstall, but into another folder, and then if this does not work, into the default installation folders.

I have the same problem using Firefox 3.0.6 on MS-Windows Vista. Tabs are not restored when restarting Firefox after *closing* a Firefox window, but the problem does not occur when *exiting* Firefox (File>>Exit).

>Tabs are not restored when restarting Firefox after *closing* a Firefox window
Only the last Window is saved, if you have for example the downloadmanager window open, it will be the last window and the tabs in the browser window will not restored. We have a bug about that.

Is anyone still able to reproduce this problem with Firefox 3.5.2? If yes then please create a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles) and repeat the steps there. If it happens too please compress the profile and attach it to this bug.

These settings worked perfectly pre-version 3. In the early versions 3 (3.1, 3.2?) they worked if I closed Firefox by clicking File/Exit, but not by using the X in the upper-right corner of the window. Now (3.5.2), Firefox doesn't remember anything anymore.. unless I choose to remember browsing and download history between sessions - but it didn't use to be this way.

See bug 398817 (Nothing should have changed between 3.5.1 and 3.5.1 though)

So right after the new Ubuntu release and then the few Firefix upgrades this actually worked for a bit! Then, suddenly, after I closed it one time (upper right hand corner X ) it did not get them again. I tried a few more times with no results. Now, once again, I am back to Terminal - Pkill Firefox.
