Our goal for including an RSS feed in the live bookmark is to demonstrate dynamic, changing and relevant content. We would suggest you choose something your users are interested in and that is locally relevant. By default this is the same as en-US, which is BBC news.

In bug 410783 comment 6 we settled on http://maharashtratimes.indiatimes.com/, but according to bug 410783 comment 23, we still lack their permission to use it.

The implementation is done via a change of the redirect on mozilla.com, and is a server-side change only.
PS: http://maharashtratimes.indiatimes.com/rssfeedsdefault.cms validates up to a few server configuration mishaps about content type and encoding.
further to opening comment. i have sent another mail.
i would suggest if we don't hear back that we swap back to default BBC feed within time for 3.0.x release. I do not think think trying for maharshtratimes should be a blocker to release. Sandeep, what do you think? maybe you can phone them and ask them for what else they need to make a decision. thanks
Sandeep, if it's ok with you and we want to make the 3.0.2 build I'd suggest we go back to BBC as I still have not heard a final decision from Mahrashtratrimes ?
from comment #3

Yes, I am ok with going back to BBC as RSS sample feed for Marathi since Mahrashtratimes has not made final decision.

Please go ahead with the 3.0.2 build with the BBC as RSS sample feed for Marathi.
ok we'll go ahead with BBC. the default feed is english, we can also choose another language if you think it makes more sense, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/languages/
what is your recommendation?
From comment #5

Hindi is the national langauage of India. Additionally, Hindi and Marathi share common character set - Devanagari script. So that justifies me recommeding http://www.bbc.co.uk/hindi/ to be the rss feed for Marathi.
ok great, and from above comment #6, I take it that Sandeep recommends that users of this Marathi build will be happy with a Hindi feed based on common character set and that users will speak both languages. i have done some research as well and found a study from anthropological survey of India which concurs with the above :)
If any further inputs required from my side wrt 3.0.2 build, do let me know.
Has this bug reached Status: RESOLVED FIXED or any input is still required from my side?

Thanks.
This is on us now to fix on the server side. Taking to make that clear.
