Manual installation of Thunderbird (2.0.0.16) is blocked by McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE8.5). It's 'Access protection module' has a rule named 'Prevent common programs from running files from the Temp folder' which prevents SETUP.EXE from running. Antivirus has to be disabled before executing the downloaded installer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have McAfee VSE 8.5 installed
2. Run downloaded Thunderbird installer
3. Check Mcafee 'acces protection log'
Actual Results:
A window titles '7-Zip', saying 'Access is denied'
It's common for installers to extract the files to temp und run the setup.exe from there. That's one of the reasons why there is a temp folder at all !
I don't know which additional security you should get with this feature.

You should file a bug on mcafee that they remove this rule.

The rule might be there to prevent unwanted installations being launched from popular communication programs.

Investigating the rule, I detected that I modified it in a way that it became too strict. A standard McAfee installation would probably allow the installer to run.

Therefore, I propose to close this bug report.
