This works in Safari but in Firefox produces black screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to website
2. click an image
3. the image does not display
Actual Results:  
image that displays in Safari will not display in Firefox

Expected Results:  
image should display

this has been reported also separately to Britannica as a possible bug in their coding

Do you mean when, for example, you click on the rug image on that page :

If yes I cannot reproduce with the same configuration.

Yes, although I am now getting the rug appearing also.  Maybe this has been fixed. It has also been reported to the webmasters at Encyclopedia Britannica who advised me to use Safari, which works.  They also suggested I try Firefox 3 however this did not at the time fix the problem of the black screen not including the image.  Since it is working today, it is a matter of conjecture as to how the problem was fixed in this case, or indeed whether all other comparable pages on this and similar websites will henceforth display when clicked from the icons.

Works for me, Firefox 3.0.3 on MacOSX 10.5.5 and Linux.

This bug was reported using Firefox 3.0 or older, which is no longer supported. The bug has also not been changed in over 500 days and is still in UNCO.
Reporter, please retest this bug in Firefox 3.6.10 or later using a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles. If you still see this problem, please update the bug. If you no longer see the bug, please set the resolution to RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
