The extended url string on embeded video pages (super options on OGGTV), cannot be played because of a url string bug. Linux is not affected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to OGGTV.COM with Windows. 2.go to video select or super options. 3.try to play OGG video. Actual Results: plugin crash, then no video Expected Results: Video will play normally, like on Linux. The problem might be VLC for Windows.

It is a url bug. (caused by longer urls) The VLC/Mozilla plugin for windows, cannot find or play the OGG/THEORA file on long urls. The longer url is caused by the large ammount of OGG and html files on the site. On Linux, (VLC plugin) everything works perfectly. The bug is in the entire site (except main page/older test pages still on server, w/short urls, found on google search)

Firefox 3.1 can be tested as a replacement, if the VLC/Mozilla plugin, cannot be fixed this fall. This bug is very serious, and can stop several OGG websites from using a large static framework of OGG and html files, and damage the adoption of OGG/THEORA on the web. OGGTV breaking the Windows plugin, can help bugzilla find the problem, before more sites get the same bug.

There is no difference with the URL parsing in Gecko for Linux/osX/win32. This just seems to be another VLC plugin bug on win32 beside that it's crashing very frequently. Did you tested this with another plugin or asked the VLC developers ?
I don't think I've not been able to get the VLC plugin to work for any video i've tried to have it play. It just causes media frames to just say "video loading, please wait..." or something similar until I close it. It applies to more than just OGG/Theora though. It happens for my on OGGTV.com and other sites I've tried it with. I don't know what media type the video's were, but they were probably WMV. Could both of our problems be the same?
Actually, it seems to be working better for me since I last updated VLC, though OGGTV and a few other sites don't render video still.

Closing old bugs in the Plugins component. We aren't going to track issues in 3rd-party plugins in the Mozilla bug tracker. In addition, support for NPAPI plugins will be removed at the end of this year; for more details see the post at https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/ If there is a serious bug in Firefox, it needs to be filed in the "Core" product, "Plug-Ins" component.
