I'm on Mandriva Cooker. I can reproduce the problematic behaviour on Firefox-3.0.1 from the Mandriva RPMs. However, it works fine on Firefox-3.1-trunk-from-hg, which I compiled myself.
This works in Firefox 2, regressed in Firefox 3 but is fixed on trunk.

Thanks, but this was fixed by bug 411059 and is already adequately tested by tests there.
