I don't suppose you'd believe we're trying to optimize download times by remove extraneous double characters... Fixed in r18569.

OLD: "plust $3,000 for your personal enjoyment"
NEW: "plus $3,000 for the winning proposal."

Stephen -- I happened to look at impactmozilla.com on a vintage browser (something called Firefox 2) and saw the attached problem.  Is this an issue we need to solve on the design or wed dev end?

This is addressed in bug 457905 - will be fixed shortly.
