(Whiteboard: closeme 2009-10-23)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier: 2.0.0.17 (20080914)

The <Ctrl> + + adjustment appeared recently - no idea why. E-Mail comes in at 96 DPI (smallest) but read window responds to adjustment OK.
No sooner found than it does not work in composition window.
This happened coincidentally with installation of HPw1007 Monitor - I allowed HP "My Monitor" files to be installed - removed those which action solved distortion of screen images (Oval Heads).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select Write Icon
2. Set cursor into composition Window (cursor is tiny)
3.
Actual Results:
<Ctrl> + + ineffective.

Expected Results:
Text Size should have increased
Text zoom only affects texts you view, not the one you compose in. (You noticed that menu isn't available in the composition window?) If you want another font size, adjust it in the preferences.
Your reply is no more than a snotty restatement of the problem. Not helpful at all to mere users.
Why don't you come down to earth and set the defaults to 10 points instead of burying the fix in a remote menu line? In fact, why not set up some defaults?

And, why not make the <Ctrl> <+> work in composition? That adjustment is a great idea.

Honestly, Mozilla seems to have a collective attitude nearly as bad as that of Microsoft.

If Mozilla is developing ideas of becoming indispensable, try looking at "Comparison of e-mail clients" in Wikipedia. I have.

I see no reason for disabling text zoom in the composer. What would it hurt to enable text zoom in the composer?

It is inconvenient for me to adjust font size via preferences in menu. The dialog is overwhelming, and there are too many steps involved in accessing those options.

Enabling the <Ctrl> <+> option would definitely add value to the product.

Could you try to see if it still happens with
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ ?

Using 3.0 beta it seems that work as you want: can you confirm?
