This is a follow on to investigate the problem underlying bug 42686.

There are two ways to reproduce the crash
1) Linux only, first (few?) times running a new profile:
  a. do ./netscape -mail
  b. open your account folder
  c. open inbox
2) Mac only (varying frequency):
  a. mouse over a link
  b. tooltip comes up, assert
This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working 
on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another 
known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way 
-- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.
