Thanks for the crash ID. 0 npietab.dll npietab.dll@0x19ca1 This is no Firefox Dll, I think it belongs to the Ietab addon. Please report this to the developer of that addon.

IEtab installs a plugin, type about:plugins and you should see it, it's the npieTAB.dll (np*.dll = Netscape Plugin). It's possible that this plugin isn't disabled if you disabled the addon. Either uninstall Ietab for a test and confirm that the plugin is gone or locate the npietab.dll and rename it for example to npietab.old The plugin part is causing the crash from the crash id in comment #2. You can post another crash ID to be sure that you posted the correct ID.

I got the right ID (8136ee6b-9a3c-11dd-9b36-001cc45a2ce4) and uninstalled IETabs but Firefox still crashes when a file is downloaded. The only difference is instead of a Mozilla Crash window coming up, Vista comes up with the "This program is not responding" message and closes Firefox (right before the download finishes).

Please enter about:plugins and confirm that the IEtab plugin isn't listed anymore. If it's gone run Firefox in the Firefox safemode : http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode If it still hangs then please create a new profile for testing: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
