User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.17) Gecko/20080829 SeaMonkey/1.1.12

There is an option in Edit > Preferences > Navigator > Smart Browsing > Domain Guessing, which is supposed to “automatically add “www.” to the location if a web page is not found.

It does just that in most sites I have visited, but in some cases (example URL is given) it doesn't. The severity is minor because I can just simply stop being lazy and type “www.” before the domain name, but then it is a defect for the “domain guessing” feature.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just enter the URL address in address field without adding “www.”
2. Try to load the page

Actual Results:
Page load error

Expected Results:
Automatically add “www” and loads the page

I see it on Linux trunk. I guess ".co.jp" should be treated like ".co.uk", i.e. as lacking an element (at the left) to be a domain name.
