If you configure Sunbird with an empty CalDAV calendar (There must only be one calendar configured), the progress indicator at the top right of the window does not stop spinning. 

Creating an event in that calendar seems to resolve the issue.

I checked this issue with the latest trunk build and it's possible form me to reproduce this bug.

Changing the unifinder filter stops also the progress indicator.
