This bug is to refactor the mailing lists into a sane hierarchy, per <http://quetzalcoatal.blogspot.com/2008/10/mailing-list-sanity.html>. Steps 1, 2, 4, and 6 will most likely be patches on this bug; steps 0 (removing some subclasses of nsAbCardProperty), 3, and 5 will be on separate bugs.

Mailing List behaviour is totally insane (wrong design and buggy!), so this looks like a great catch-all idea ;)

I understand the point of this bug, and I tried to do something similar. I may try again in future but I don't see much to gain by leaving this bug open.
