Attached file testcase 1
Using the new-in-Firefox-3 Gnome native Print & Page Setup dialogs on Linux, there's no way to Print-Preview a page with its background images.

Steps to Print-Preview with background **on Windows**:
 1. Load testcase 1
 2. File | Print-Preview
 3. Click "Page Setup" button
 4. Check the "Print Background (colors & images)" box, and click "OK"
RESULTS: Grid background appears in print-preview

Steps to **Print** (not preview) with background on Linux:
 1. Load testcase 1
 2. File | Print
 3. Click "Options" tab on Print dialog
 4. Check the "Print Background Images" box
 5. Go back to "General" tab, choose your printer ("print to file" is fine), and click the Print button.
RESULTS: Grid background appears in printed output

Steps to Print Preview with background on Linux:
 None AFAIK

Hack-ish workaround: open about:config, searching for "bgimages", and set all those properties to true. (Note: you actually only need to turn on the bgimages property for your default printer, but it's easier to just set all of them, if you forget which one is default)
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081114 Minefield/3.1b2pre
Confirmed on Aurora 11.0a2 (2012-01-10)
Summary: No way to print-preview background images on Linux → [UX] No way to print-preview background images on Linux
Severity: normal → S3
