This bug seems to come and go. The same build Alek used (2000-07-28-08 ***M18***) worked for me while build 72608 crashed. See bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46575. Reassigning to Browser:General.

I'm seeing this on NT using a fresh pull from this morning. Here is my stack (from Viewer): 02b6ceb4() nsGenericFactory::CreateInstance(nsGenericFactory * const 0x02efc330, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x01effc98) line 48 nsComponentManagerImpl::CreateInstance(nsComponentManagerImpl * const 0x014844b0, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x01effc98) line 1237 + 24 bytes nsComponentManager::CreateInstance(const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * 0x00000000, const nsID & {...}, void * * 0x01effc98) line 82 nsServiceManagerImpl::GetService(nsServiceManagerImpl * const 0x01484820, const nsID & {...}, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0309cf40 gPSMService, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 346 + 19 bytes nsServiceManagerImpl::GetService(nsServiceManagerImpl * const 0x01484820, const char * 0x030996d8, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0309cf40 gPSMService, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 494 nsServiceManager::GetService(const char * 0x030996d8, const nsID & {...}, nsISupports * * 0x0309cf40 gPSMService, nsIShutdownListener * 0x00000000) line 607 nsSSLIOLayerNewSocket(const char * 0x02efe8b0, int 443, const char * 0x00000000, int -1, PRFileDesc * * 0x02efe9b4, nsISupports * * 0x01effe90) line 529 + 24 bytes nsSSLSocketProvider::NewSocket(nsSSLSocketProvider * const 0x02efc470, const char * 0x02efe8b0, int 443, const char * 0x00000000, int -1, PRFileDesc * * 0x02efe9b4, nsISupports * * 0x01effe90) line 91 + 29 bytes nsSocketTransport::doConnection(short 0) line 845 + 88 bytes nsSocketTransport::Process(short 0) line 616 + 13 bytes nsSocketTransportService::ProcessWorkQ() line 241 + 10 bytes nsSocketTransportService::Run(nsSocketTransportService * const 0x0177b884) line 444 + 11 bytes nsThread::Main(void * 0x0177b2e0) line 84 + 26 bytes _PR_NativeRunThread(void * 0x0177b170) line 399 + 13 bytes _threadstartex(void * 0x0177cf80) line 212 + 13 bytes KERNEL32! 77f04ee8() I cannot tell what is going wrong though.
This bug is on the Trunk build M18, setting to nsbeta3 nominee.
I don't see this on my Linux mozilla optimized build (this morning's tree closure). I have PSM installed.

The crash doesn't happen to me with either Linux commercial 080204 build - Installer or tarball.
