i went to the Mozilla site and down loaded the application .I went to install it and got a message file is corrupt .If you can fix it I would like to use the browser.

A small number of downloads will fail due to transient issues, which is probably what happened here. It would really help to know what mirror you got redirected to, but at a bare miminum we'd need the version of Firefox you were downloading, the OS and the locale.
