This operation should be represented to the user in form of activity manager processes (no grouping), and events.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100227 Thunderbird/3.0.3

when i send a msg the AM window flickers as _something_ happens but no info is left in the AM window. it SEEMS that there might have been a graphic - perhaps a progress bar - and then a bit of text - perhaps an "indexing" note - but nothing is left behind.

i believe there otta be some msg left behind. perhaps "1 msg sent from [account name] to [smtp server name]" would do the job.

steps to reproduce ...
1- display activity manager window
2- clear am window to make what happens obvious
3- send a msg [imap or pop]
4- watch am window flicker as _something_ happens
5- note the window is empty again/still after sending finishes
