When some tabs contain only an image, the tab bar thumb extends over several tabs leftwards, making them inaccessible to the mouse

Attached image screenshot of tab bar
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20081214 Minefield/3.2a1pre - Build ID: 20081214020626

Reproducible: Always

Actual results:
- Thumbnails for tabs containing bare images (here, .jpg images in 8th and last tab) extend, distorted, over several tabs to the left
- Hovering the mouse anywhere over a distorted area displays a tooltip with the image's title (URL, zoom %, etc.), not necessarily for the tab supposed to be at that abscissa on the tab bar
- Clicking anywhere over a distorted area opens the tab with the image, not necessarily the tab at that abscissa
- Tabs hidden by the distorted areas can only be opened by keyboard action (e.g. hitting Ctrl+PgUp as many times as necessary) or from the all-tabs menu

Expected results:
- Reduced images should be limited to their own tab, not hiding other tabs
- Every tab should function properly in reaction to mouseover and mouse-click as well as to keyboard action
Is this obsolete now?

Using Firefox 94.0a1 (2021-10-03) on Windows 10, Ubuntu 20.04 and Mac 11,
there wasn't anything similarly to what it is described into this issue. The tabs have undergone at least 3 major refarctors, that I know of, since this bug creation date. I believe it's reasonable to close it down as WFM.
