What version/distribution of Linux are you using? Are you using SeaMonkey from your distribution repository or did you download it from our official download site?

I am using Gentoo Linux with a Vanilla Kernel (2.6.26.5).  I compiled the Seamonkey source from your official download site, and previous distributions up to 1.1.12 had been working just fine.  I have this problem with seamonkey 1.1.13 and above.

Compiled with gcc-4.3.2, gnome - 2.22.3, and gtk+ - 2.14.5

Does the official 1.1.14 from http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/ also crash? I'll cc some people who would know more about liunx.

Yes, and the error I see in the official 1.1.14 is what triggered this bug report.

I've never seen the 'crash' on any firefox versions I've used.  Currently I'm running firefox compiled from source (minefield-3.0.4) with no problems...in fact, having to use it on those websites seamonkey is crashing on.  I can also tell you that I am using the exact same plugins (java, flash 10, etc.) with minefield and seamonkey.  

As for your question, I can't say about Firefox 2.0.0.20 since I haven't run it in a very long time.

Honestly, I prefer seamonkey and will be glad when I don't have to use firefox/minefield.

Followup to comment #6.  Note, that all of my plugins are also compiled on my machine whenever possible, so that the plugins and the browser are using the very same version of the libraries on my machine.  I have found this to be essential to the plugins working (or even being recognized at all) by the browsers...seamonkey and minefield included.

Unfortunately, comment #6 is not helpful, as what I want to know is if it's specific to this version of Gecko, and if so, Firefox 2.0.0.20 would also have the crash. Firefox 3.x uses a different Gecko, so it's not comparable.

Well, let's try the opposite test: does it happen on SeaMonkey 2.0a2, which can be downloaded from a link at http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/2.0a2 ?

You don't have to compile it, you can install it from the .tar.bz2. Since Sm2 and Sm1 profiles live at a different disk location, it will migrate your existing profile without clobbering the old version. Or you can use "seamonkey -ProfileManager" to create and use a new profile, see "seamonkey -h" for details.

Oh, and BTW: Comment #0 says this bug was reported using "Firefox 2.0.0.5 from 17 December 2008" which is not possible. Next time, please don't report bugs with a "doctored" useragent string, it doesn't help the devs find out "which build has the bug".
