Tabs did work once. But on restarting TB 3.0b1 on OS X 1.5.6, the tab no longer works properly. I tried this several times. The Lightning tab is blank. Clicking on the mail tab does not restore the mail window. The only way to get mail back is to kill the Calendar tab.

Current Lightning 1.0pre test builds most probably only work correctly in current Thunderbird 3.0b2pre test builds but not in older 3.0b1 builds. What Lightning build do you use? Do you see any calendar related messages in Tools > Error Console?

Actually, this was caused by the google calendar two-way data transfer plugin. I removed it, and the tab started to work again. I did find: Error: Assert failed: An error was encountered preparing the calendar located at https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/jamesrome%40gmail.com/private-5fcacf0cc1f2133c2c20b7484856604d/basic for use. It will not be available. 2: [file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/modules/calUtils.jsm -> file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calCalendarManager.js:560] cmgr_createCalendar 3: [file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/modules/calUtils.jsm -> file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calCalendarManager.js:710] cmgr_assureCache 4: [file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/modules/calUtils.jsm -> file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calCalendarManager.js:686] cmgr_getCalendars 5: [null:0] null 6: [file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/components/calCompositeCalendar.js:178] anonymous 7: [null:0] null 8: [chrome://calendar/content/calUtils.js:1874] getCompositeCalendar 9: [chrome://calendar/content/calendar-task-tree.xml:154] Source File: file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/modules/calUtils.jsm -> file:///Users/jar/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/w3v0j93w.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calUtils.js Line: 956

James, is this still reproducible using Thunderbird 3.0b2 or later and Lightning 1.0pre?
