User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090113 SeaMonkey/2.0a3pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090117 SeaMonkey/2.0a3pre

Sometimes (but not every time) SeaMonkey will crash when closing a page that has Java in it. This was tested with a recent build of SeaMonkey 2.0a3pre on x86_64, with the Java 1.6.0_12 x86_64 plugin, and no other plugins installed.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch SeaMonkey
2. Visit a page with Java, such as http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
3. Close the page

Actual Results:
Sometimes the browser crashes.

Expected Results:
Browser shouldn't crash.

I will post a gdb output with a backtrace on the crash. Let me know if there is additional info I can provide.
Version: unspecified → Trunk
Also happens on 2.0a1, that's as far back as I tested this yet.
And it seems to also sometimes crash when closing flash, so it isn't specific to java. I will try to catch a gdb of that.
Summary: SeaMonkey sometimes crashes when closing java → SeaMonkey sometimes crashes when closing java or flash
Please try in Safe mode ( http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0a2/#troubleshooting ), or with a new profile ( http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile )

What version Java and Flash you have installed?
I have used a clean profile to test this, with nothing else added besides java and flash.

The version of java is 1.6 update 12 for x86_64.

The version of flash is 10.0.21.1 for x86_64.

The gdb trace posted above is the same whether the browser crashed on the java page or a flash page.

I don't get a crash on any other pages except where the plugins are used. When there's a crash the backtrace points to the plugin framework.

I will run in safe mode and see if I can still trigger a crash.

I tried it and it still crashes. The backtrace is the same as before.
Is this an official 32bit build from our downloads server or a contributed 64bit build? x86_64 builds are not officially supported.
