If you specify an bold font such as "font-family:'Arial Bold'" or "font-family:'Bitstream Vera Serif Bold'" you get the plain version instead. You have to add 'font-weight:bold' to get the bold fonts.
DARN IT. If I specify 'Arial Bold' then I effin want 'Arial Bold', not Arial. I know yall are doing the 'right thing', but its still annoying.

BTW, I came across this by trying your @font-face example. It uses 'Bitstream Vera Serif Bold', and it wasn't working and wasn't working and I was getting more and more frustrated.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.set your font-family to a bold or italic variation of a font
2.display page in browser
3.you get plain version
Actual Results:
You get plain version instead of bold version

Expected Results:
I expect the browser to use the font I explicitly specify.
