User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 images.dither string = false. That should turn off all image dithering, but often its ignored and small / some / all images are dithered regardless of setting. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set about:config option images.dither to string = false. 2. Clear cache 3. Browse and inspect if dithered image effects continue eg. try a vbulletin post / edit page. Actual Results: Often images are rendered as dithered - ignoring the config setting. Typically smaller gif images such as buttons and icons. Expected Results: Expect config settings to be honored - no image dithering. Tested on three different installs of 3.0x, XP and Vista. No graphical or skin addons used. images.dither setting was honored for a week, and then it was progressively ignored on all newly rendered images. Affected images are usually smaller gifs and icon or button styled images. Affects all common sites - ie. vBulletin images, buttons.
