Some of the Chatzilla content on www.mozilla.org has been moved over to a separate Chatzilla site, so we should either archive any remaining pages that are out of date or migrate them over to the other site and set up redirects. If we remove the pages, they will still be available for historical interest on the archive site at

http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/
A few months ago a lot of pages were removed and a couple of client-side redirects were added to

http://chatzilla.hacksrus.com/

These changes were committed in

http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc?view=revision&revision=58680

Would it be OK to remove the rest of the pages in rt-messaging on mozilla.org and move those client-side redirects to server-side ones in an .htaccess file?

In r90931 I removed some pages that were being redirected.

Those pages had the redirects in the HTML so I moved those redirects into the main .htaccess file in r90932.

The main page at mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging just had a link pointing people to the mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla page which was being redirected, so I redirected that page and removed that file in r90933.

Is there any other content here worth migrating and setting up redirects for? If not, I recommend archiving the rest of the files in this section. Archiving means the pages get moved to our archive site where there is a note about the pages being out of date.

For instance, someone going to

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/irc-urls.html

would automatically get taken to

http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/irc-urls.html

I'm assuming that none of these pages are relevant anymore since they weren't moved over to the Chatzilla site, but I wanted to have a chance to discuss this first.

If anything does get archived and is wanted later, it is easy to retrieve the files and migrate to wherever is appropriate.
Sorry I didn't answer your question in comment 1; what you've done is fine, we're no longer using anything under projects/rt-messaging and anything without an existing redirect to the CZ website is fine to redirect to the archive site.
James, thanks for confirming we can archive the rest of the content.

Rest of /projects/rt-messaging content archived in r91057.
