In my extension Cookie Monster, I implement a prefwindow for the options dialog.  Within the prefwindow, there is a prefpane containing preferences and a vbox containing checkboxes.

For all versions previous to FF3.1 beta 2, this rendered properly.  For FF3.1 beta 2 through FF3.5 beta 4, the last checkbox is only partially visible (i.e cutoff).


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  In Firefox 3, download and install Cookie Monster (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4703)
2. From the Firefox menu, choose Tools->Add-ons, then Options for Cookie Monster
3. Notice how all of the checkboxes are completely visible
4. Perform the same steps in Firefox 3.5 beta 4
5. Notice how the last checkbox is only partially visible
Actual Results:  
The prefwindow dialog is rendered differently for Firefox 3 than for Firefox 3.5 beta 4.


Expected Results:  
The prefwindow dialog should render exactly the same for Firefox 3 and Firefox 3.5 beta 4.

Ria,

I noticed you are using Shiretoko/3.5pre (rv:1.9.1pre) and Windows 6.0, whereas I use Windows 2000 (5.0) and was testing with (rv:1.9.1b4).  I wonder if this issue is resolved in Shiretoko/3.5pre?  Also, I suppose it could be specific to Windows 2000, but I doubt it.

I just checked it with the latest build and I get the same result as I did previously.  Perhaps this is platform problem with Windows 2000.  Can somebody try this with XP?

I also get the same behavior if I open the preferences window in a tab, even though it is then big enough to contain all the options. The prefpane element expands to fill the available space but the anonymous vbox element inside it is too small.

This seems to have been fixed on Firefox 3.6.

I don't think we have plans to go back and fix this for 3.5, considering that based on comment #12 this is fixed in 3.6.
