This additional bar never disappears. It contains only the following message in boldfaced red. <broadcaster id="viewUrlParamsSidebar" ---------------^ Thanks for your consideration, Teresa Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open SeaMonkey 2. 3. Actual Results: It is always there, no matter what view settings or preferences I change. Appears after cold boots and reinstallation. Appeared the very first time I installed the above version. (I have been using SeaMonkey for several years.) Expected Results: Status bar be at the very bottom of the SeaMonkey window, with nothing below it. I have not made any other changes in my computer configuration or installed any other software.

Do you have any extension installed? Most times those error messages (that's what it is) are from extensions that are not actually compatible with that SeaMonkey version (and SeaMonkey 1.x is very bad at detecting compatibility and managing extensions/add-ons).

(In reply to comment #1) > Do you have any extension installed? I had not installed any extensions. However, I did check to see if there were any legacy extensions or anything pointing to them. Nada. I took notice of two files in my profile chrome directory: (1) urlparams.jar and (2) viewsourcewith.jar When I renamed the URLPARAMS.JAR file, the extra bar remained, but the message disappeared. Any thoughts?

Above must be some old extension files. Deleted them and everything is back to normal. ... and I am one VERY happy puppy ...

Yes, those sounds like things left behind from extensions, as I said SeaMonkey 1.x has quite bad extensions management so this can happen. The better extension management in SeaMonkey 2 will prevent such cases from happening, by the way :)
